Mufti Taqi Usmani has been named on top of a list of 50 most influential Muslims in the world.
Mufti Taqi Usmani is a Pakistani Islamic scholar and former judge who is Vice President and Shaykh al-Hadith at Darul Uloom Karachi. He is the author of 80 books and also translates Qur’an in both English and Urdu.
Mufti Sahab is the most influential religious scholar from Pakistan.And has previously been placed 6th on the 2019 list.
The list has published by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center, an independent research entity affiliated with the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought, Jordan.
The definition of “influential” according to publication refers to “a person who has the power (to be it cultural, ideological, financial, political, or otherwise) to make a change that will have a significant impact on the Muslim World.”
On the crisis in Kashmir, Mufti Taqi Usmani did not remain silent raise his concern towards the UAE who granted President Modi their highest award, by saying:
“Woe to the biggest killer of thousands of Muslims, the person who has occupied the lands of thousands of Muslims, who made Kashmir a prison for Ahl-Kashmir (people of Kashmir), due to which the largest massacre of Muslims is going on in Kashmir. Such a man was awarded the award by a Muslim Arab country. Oh, this remorse! Oh, this shame!”Mufti Taqi Usmai
Prime Minister Imran Khan, religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, and religious preacher Maulana Nazur Rehman are the other three Pakistanis featured in the top 50 of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world.
- PM Imran, featured as the 16th most influential Muslim personality.
- Maulana Tariq Jameel is on number 36 on the list.
- Maulana Nazur Rahman featured at the 50th number.
The list has also named American Congresswoman, Rashida Talib as ‘Woman of the Year’, and PM Imran as the ‘Man of the Year’.
