Shaan Shahid Reaction On Broadcasting Of “Diriliş: Ertuğrul
While the rest of the country is excited to watch historical fiction series (with Urdu dubbing on PTV), Lollywood star Shaan Shahid is disappointed with PTV’S decision to air foreign content “Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Replying to a tweet by Senator Faisal Javed Khan, Shaan said, “Try to find our own history and it’s heroes.”
Shaan stood by his stance and asserted that PTV should fund projects of such magnitude, instead of spending money acquiring them
Shaan ended the debate by appealing to Prime Minister Imran Khan to support the entertainment industry and stop cultural imports like these. It is pertinent to mention here that Shaan was also very critical of Bollywood films being released in Pakistan.
Imran Khan’s review on Dirilis Ertugrul
A short video clip of Imran Khan from the interview has been released by the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Twitter in which he said serials like Dirilis Ertugrul will revive the forgotten Islamic traditions and struggle faced by previous nomads.

After Dirilis Ertugrul, which is already proving a huge success, PM Khan wants PTV to broadcast another Turkish serial in Urdu-Younus Emre. Younus Emre was a famous Turkish poet and mystic Sufi who greatly influenced Turkish culture.
